This very yummy stroganov recipe (it’s amazing and we all LOVE the sauce!!) is from my mother’s sister, Gudrun, bless her, she is a Sweetheart 🙂

Prep Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 1 hour
Yields: 3-4


  • 400-500g organic beef cut into strips
  • 2 yellow onions, cut
  • 100g organic butter
  • 2 tbsp tomato puree
  • 1-2 tsp dijon mustard
  • 200ml water
  • 180-200g sour cream (organic)


  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan (I never use teflon cookware, you can google it).
  2. Add the cut onions and let it soften in the butter (do not brown the onions, watch the heat).
  3. Add the meat and brown it a bit.
  4. Add the tomate puree, mustard and water and let boil using low heat for around 45-55 minutes.
  5. Add the sour cream and taste with seasalt and black pepper. Serve with rice and cucumbers for example.
