My Recipe

Prep Time: 5-10 mins
Cook Time: 45 mins
Yields: 4

Ingredients

  • 30g butter
  • 400-500g minced beef
  • 2 onions (3 if small)
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp seasalt, 2 tsp oregano, 2 tsp basil, 2 bay leaves, 1/2 tsp white pepper, 1 tsp coconut palm sugar
  • 500-600 ml tomato passata (pureed tomatoes or canned tomatoes)
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • 250ml water
  • 100-150g cream cheese
  • Spelt spaghetti (or gluten free if you prefer that) or normal .. to serve with (optional)
  • Olive oil and salad if you like, to serve with (optional)

Method

  1. Cut the onions and press the garlic.
  2. Melt the butter on a fairly big skillet, add the onions, garlic and meat and saute on a medium high heat, until the meat is cooked.
  3. While it is cooking, stir every now and then and add all the spices, salt etc. Lower the heat if everything starts to stick to the pan.
  4. When the meat is cooked you add the tomato passata, tomato paste and water and let this cook on a medium low heat for around 45 minutes.
  5. When you have around 10 minutes left of the cooking time, start boiling the spaghetti.
  6. Just before serving you add the cream cheese (to your bolognese), blend well and serve with spaghetti, salad and olive oil .. or other you love.

Additional Info

I only buy Icelandic salad because it is not sprayed with pesticides.
