Mango or pear & avocado babyfood

  • 1/2 ripe mango or 1 ripe pear
  • 1/2 ripe avocado (1 avocado if it is small)
  • Pinch vanilla powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp coldpressed coconut oil (optional)
  • Water, coconut water, ricemilk (organic) or almond milk (after 8 months) to thin down to desired consistency.


  1. Wash the mango/pear and avocado and peel only half of it.
  2. Use the peeled half of the mango and avocado and purée together with a little bit of vanilla and water or other you choose.

Additional Info

Store the unpeeled halves of the mango and avocado in the fridge, preferably in a sealed container, although not necessary if you use it within 24 hours or so. I use a Pyrex 500ml measuring jug and handheld blender to puree small portions.

♥ Around 9 months (and sooner if your baby likes chewing), it is a good idea to begin to mash the food by hand when possible or cut finely, instead of puréeing it, to get your baby used to new and coarser food textures. See also list of ideal finger foods.
