♥ From my book; What should I feed my baby?
Natural pure foods ♥
♥ are grown without chemical fertilizers and pesticides. This means organic foods but some “NON” organic foods are also grown in this way.
♥ are not genetically modified.
♥ do not contain added growth hormones, antibiotics or other drugs.
♥ do not contain artificial anything nor any preservatives.
♥ meaning whole foods, which means products that do not have a long list of ingredients (for example a high quality almond butter should only contain almonds, preferably raw and maybe some sea salt but no added sugars, oils etc).
♥ are fresh! So if you have to choose between imported organic produce or fresh local one the latter is the better option. You can always ask your farmer how he grows his produce.
♥ are grown with the laws of nature in mind. This means that animals are fed their native diets and not a mix of grains or animal byproducts and have free range access to the outdoors.
♥ are grown in a sustainable way. Sustainability rests on the principle that we must meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. This means using minimal amounts of water, protecting the soil from burnout and turning animal wastes into natural fertilizers instead of environmental pollutants. Furthermore it includes the consideration of social responsibilities such as working and living conditions of laborers, the needs of rural communities and consumer health and safety both in the present and the future.
♥ do not come from a factory farm.
