Very Icelandic Christmas cake
This is a cake that my Ebba (born 1911, I am named after her) used to bake a lot, and not only around Christmas (even though it is always called Christmas cake in Iceland). It is easy to make and tastes lovely, especially with coffee or tea.
I hope you try it!

Chocolate cake with dates instead of white sugar
It's easy and delicious to swap the white refined sugar in cakes and treats with dates. Dates are filled with vitamins and minerals and they do not have a distinct taste, they only taste sweet. They make this cake soft and lovely. I hope you try it!
The frosting for the cake:
70g melted butter (or about 50g cold pressed coconut oil)
70g organic maple syrup or dark agave syrup.
4 tbsp pure cacao powder
Mix everything well together and spread on your cake ...

Mixing it up
Dear friends. A friend came over last week and spoke about how she had started eating more nuts after lunch and until supper to curb her sugar cravings. This reminded me to remind you of this lovely option which is so easy to take with anywhere or have at home to enjoy whenever.

TARAMAR and wonders of the sea ..
When I started caring more about what I ate (around 20 years ago) and learning more about nutrition, organic foods, sustainability etc. etc. I remember a woman telling me that we should only put on our skin, what is safe to eat. Because everything we put on our skin, seeps into our system..
This actually made great sense to me although it took me a little time to change into all organic and pure skincare. But when I had my children, I used only organic cold pressed oils on them and sometimes ...

Cold pressed coconut oil for babies and parents
Cold pressed coconut oil is wonderful to rub your skin with before you shower or bathe. It makes your skin very soft and beautiful and protects it from drying in the water. I often dry brush my skin towards the heart before I shower, rub it with coconut oil and then shower. The warmth of the water helps the oil to penetrate the skin and body (which is good) and the oil also takes away all smell. So rub those armpits too! :)
This makes it completely unnecessary to use any soap. I only use ...
Reuse your Zip locks
Hi dear parents.
It's a great idea to wash well your zip lock bags with hot water and then dry them with a clean cotton cloth/towel. Then you can use them over and over again. This is better for the environment/our earth .. and good for our wallet too :)
Our earth is suffocating in plastic.
I use clean glass jars with a lid for leftovers most of the time. But occasionally zip lock bags are better, like in the freezer for my blueberry harvest ..
